All the queries will be resolved within 24 hours. The postal departments assigns the complaints to the concerned post offices who resolves the complaints within 24 hours. About Indian postal service:

Indian postal service has started in the year of 1764. The headquarters is at New Delhi. These services are managed by the department of posts(DoP). According to the report taken in the year of 2008, there were 1,55,035 post offices in India. The postal service employs over 520,000 people across the country. In 2008, Indian Post had a revenue of 5494 crore. The postal services include postcard, letter card, insurance, money order, letter, parcel, postal order and foreign mail.

This toll free number 1924 is available in three language as of now. Those languages are Hindi, English and Malayalam. Government is taking steps to implement the services to all the regional languages in the upcoming days.

Operating times of Post Office complaint service:

This free service is available from 8 AM to 8 PM on all the working days. This service will not be available on Holidays. Any one can raise complaints between 8 AM to 8 PM. Postal department resolves  the complaints within 24 hours.

Time line for resolving complaints:

All the complaints related to postal services will be resolved within 24 hours. There is exception for policy decisions. Postal department resolves Policy decisions within a week. The concerned postal department will be responsible for resolving the complaints. CCC portal shows the status of the complaints.

Steps to reach Postal complaint number:

The toll free help line number 1924 is available to all Indian customers. They need to call the postal complaint number 1924 in the given time period (8AM to 8 PM) using any of the operators such as Airtel, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, BSNL etc. The complaints received from the postal complaint number 1924 is registered with Computerised Customer Care (CCC) portal. The complaints will be assigned with 11 digit ticket number after the registration of the complaint in CCC portal. This number is called Reference number.

Working of Postal complaint number and Toll free service:

  • When a customers calls the toll free number, the complaints will be checked whether it is a new complaint or an existing complaint.
  • Check the CCC portal for the status or updates about the complaint.
  • The complaint is registered in CCC portal and it is assigned to the concerned post office branch.
  • The assigned branch will take necessary action and update the status of the ticket in the CCC portal till it get resolved.
  • All the post offices is having control rooms. This control room monitors the complaints and help to resolve the complaints.
  • There will be a node officer in each post office. The officer opens and check the CCC portal on daily basis for the complaints (starting with the number 100030…. or with the word toll free complaints) being assigned to his/her branch.
  • The circle head will take action on the complaint and assign it to the concerned post offices.
    The circle heads will login into the CCC portal at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day compulsory.
  • The circles take steps to resolve the complaints at the earliest.

You can register your complaints through website as well. Login into the official website of postal department and visit the complaints page.
You can select the type of transaction such as express parcels, money orders, recurring deposit, postal life insurance, registered parcels, Kisan Vikas Pathra, speed post letter, value payable letters, Indira Vikas Pathra, recurring deposit or others.
